It is One Man, One Woman, United Together In Christ! And So, the Definition of Marriage is Not the Issue…

Any sexual relationship outside of marriage, which is defined as one man and one woman in a heterosexual monogamous relationship, is sin.

It is being said by proponents of gay rights, that Christians should not speak against same-sex (homosexual) marriages or relationships because, “Jesus said nothing against homosexuality,” and “He never judged others.” Those statements are simply not true: Jesus is God, and God is the author of the whole Bible, for it is the
Word of God (cf. 2Timothy 3:16; 2Peter 1:20-21), and the Word of God speaks very specifically and clearly about homosexual behavior, as it does about all sin.

What does God’s Word say about sin? It tells us that no one is acceptable to God, all have turned away, everyone is a sinner and we all deserve the death penalty (Romans 3:10-12, 23; 6:23a); but, God loves us so much that He sent His own Son to pay our sin debt (John 3:16-18), by dying on the cross in our place (Romans 5:8), granting us forgiveness for sins (1John 1:9) and providing eternal life for everyone who will believe (John 11:25-26; 14:6).

What does the Bible say about homosexuality? It tells us that those who practice this sin will not inherit eternal life.

Genesis 19:1-29 records that God totally destroyed the cities and surrounding communities of Sodom & Gomorrah with fire, because of the sin of homosexuality.

Leviticus 18:22; 20:13 calls homosexuality a detestable act that is punishable by death.

Romans 1:24-32 declares homosexuality to be sinful, indecent, unnatural, depraved, and deserving of death.

1Corinthians 6:9-10 calls homosexuality wicked, declaring that all those who “practice” this sin will not enter heaven.

1Timothy 1:9-10 teaches that homosexuality is unholy, ungodly, perverse, and contrary to God’s Will.

Jude 7 reiterates that Sodom, Gomorrah, and the surrounding towns, were destroyed by God because of the sin of homosexuality; it says they “serve as an example ofthose who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.”

God’s Word is very clear concerning homosexuality, it is also clear that we all are unacceptable to God because of sin, for we are all sinners; and although we all deserve death, God in His mercy and grace expressed His love for us through Jesus Christ, so that anyone who confesses his sin, trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation, receives forgiveness and eternal life (John 3:16-18; Romans 6:23b; 1John 1:9).

In 1Corinthians 6:11 Paul, speaking to Christians, after stating in verses 9-10 that these believers were previously known as fornicators, homosexuals, drunkards, swindlers, etc., declares that something has brought about a radical transformation in each of their lives: “Such were some of you; but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of God.”  The use of the imperfect tense “were” denotes something that was continuously true in the past, but is no longer true.

Paul states (2Corinthians 5:17), “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.”  Although we are all born in sin, no one is born a homosexual.  Homosexuality is a sinful orientation, choice, preference, and practice.

What does the Bible say about marriage? “God created man in His own image, male and female He created them,” (Adam & Eve) telling them to “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:27-28).  God said a man is to “be united to his wife, to become one flesh” (Genesis 2:23-25), with his wife!
Homosexuality, like any other life-dominating sin, only leads to pain, despair, and destruction.  All those who engage in such behaviors, and all those who approve of and promote such sinful lifestyles, are at odds with God’s Word, and therefore, with God Himself!

It is God’s clear and repeated will that one man be married to one woman, in a heterosexual monogamous relationship, and any sexual relationship outside of God’s ordained plan in marriage, is clearly sinful, forbidden, and condemned in God’s Word.

Jesus said (John 8:31-32), “If you continue in My Word [the Bible], then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free,” (John 14:6), “I am the way, and the truth, and the life,” and Jesus commanded (Matthew 4:17, 19), “Repent,” “follow Me,” (Mark 1:15, 17), “Repent and believe,” “follow Me.”

Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13 both say, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord” [Jesus means, “God’s Salvation” or “Savior”], for the forgiveness of sins [pardoned from sins penalty], “will be saved” [made acceptable to God through the righteousness of Christ] i.e., granted eternal life.

When you disguise, alter, or withhold God’s Truth from someone who is in need of God’s forgiveness and regeneration, you are expressing hatred toward that person or group of persons, for you are keeping from them the only thing that can save them (Acts 4:12), “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved,” only Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior: crucified, resurrected, and coming again to take everyone who belongs to Him to be with Him in heaven forever.
