Your Role as a Medication Aide

As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing medication administration and direct care to our residents. Your mission will be to promote their independence while supporting their daily activities in a way that respects their preferences.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Administer medications as prescribed, under the guidance of a licensed nurse.
  • Report any resident requests for PRN medications promptly to the nurse.
  • Notify the nurse of any adverse reactions to medications.
  • Deliver exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and grooming for residents.
  • Respond to call lights in a timely manner, addressing resident needs.
  • Support residents in maintaining proper nutrition and document meal intake.
  • Utilize proper first aid techniques when necessary.
  • Complete documentation of medication administration accurately.
  • Help maintain a therapeutic environment for residents.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities.
  • Assist residents with mobility to and from activities.
  • Provide physical support, including lifting and repositioning residents as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Care or designee.

Qualifications

  • Current valid Medication Aide Certificate authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Nurse Aide Certification.
