In God’s Service, by God’s Grace, for His Glory…

I make it very clear from the pulpit and one on one, that I am not a “Baptist,” but rather, I am a “Christian” (Believer and Follower of Jesus Christ). Why make that point? Because there is no way I can hold someone accountable (by Biblical authority) of being an obedient “Baptist.” Whereas, there is an abundance of Scripture to which I can hold someone accountable for being an obedient Christian. What is a Christian? A believer, learner and follower of Jesus Christ.

I sincerely believe that my responsibility as Pastor is to encourage, equip, and exhort other saved sinners (like myself) to make a difference in the world for Christ, right here, right now, as well as for eternity.

Knowing and living out God’s Word is the priority of God’s People, as we do that we declare our love for God, clearly seen in our expressed love for our neighbors. Who is our neighbor? Anyone in need! Who is the most needy? Those who have yet to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

We have some fantastic opportunities here at FBCW for our “family” members to grow and mature in Christ while getting to know one another as brothers and sisters: Bible Classes for All ages (Sunday Mornings), Ladies’ Bible Studies (Tuesdays), Men’s Breakfast Studies (2nd & 4th Saturdays), Small Group Studies & Discussions (Wednesday & Sunday nights), Family Dinners – Game Nights – Movies with popcorn & candy (dates vary).

We have great opportunities for ministry outreach to our local community: After School Bible Clubs (September-March), Kid’s Fishing Derby (May), Vacation Bible Adventure (July), Creation Observation (Summer), Trunk or Treat (October 31), Jail Bible Studies (2nd and 4th Saturdays), Moms in Touch (every Thursday), Women of Joy (1st Thursday of each month), Angel Tree (Christmas), Prison Fellowship (All Year).

There are also world outreach opportunities: Muslim Bible Day, Operation Christian Child, World Hunger,  Faith Comes by Hearing, and many Missionaries we support around the world.

We also have the blessing to help the homeless and indigent in our community: providing vouchers for food, fuel, utility bills, and prescriptions; offering a cup of coffee, a listening ear, a caring heart, a free Bible (with instruction).

God is so gracious to allow us these opportunities to serve others in His Name, in the surrounding community of Waldport, on the Central Coast of Oregon. Thank You Lord!
